I. RESPECT Please respect everyone on the forum. If there's any badmouthing or signs of discrimination or disrespect, the admins will have no problem banning your IP address.
II. OBEYING THE ADMINS Another important note - do NOT argue with the admins. When it comes down to it, this forum was their idea - so whether you agree with them or not, listen and behave.
III. PENDING APPLICATIONS DO NOT PM ANY ADMIN ABOUT GETTING YOUR APPLICATION ACCEPTED! If you choose to become annoying like this, your application and account will be deleted faster than spell check.
IV. PLAY-BY DETAILS Please, please, please no myspace, deviantart, or flickr kids. They must be either a celebrity (non-online) or a model. And if you're applying for a student, the play-by must be younger than 25 years old.
V. CHARACTER AGE The youngest age a character can have here is 14. Anything younger is just creepy.
VI. WORD COUNT AND WRITING QUALITY The word count for Eventide's Whisper is 350 (except for anything ooc of course). This is an intermediate to advanced roleplay forum, and we demand exceptional writing in all of our member's posts. Please keep this in mind. This is a site for people who love to write and who are serious about it.
VII. REALISTIC WRITING One of the most important qualities of our writing here is keeping it realistic. Even though this is a fantasy-based roleplay, all the characters are still human. Each character can only have one ABILITY. In other words, we don't want to see your character turning into a cat and speaking Spanish.
VIII. MATURITY CONTENT We tolerate most anything. We have no censor words, and allow use of alcohol, drugs, violence etc. We are fairly gracious with sexual content, but please don't go overboard. If it's crucial to your plot then post a warning in your thread title. Overall, we allow most anything - just don't be obnoxious about it.
IX. POWER PLAYING Please don't power play in your threads without your roleplay partner(s) permission. This means having your character take full control of what the other character's actions are.
X. PLAGIARISM This is something we take very serious here. All of us are members at other boards, have friends at other forums, and frequent the roleplay community - so don't think for ONE SECOND that we won't find you. Prepared to be verbally and mentally harassed if you decide to steal ANYTHING from here. Don't mess.
XI. NAGGING OTHER MEMBERS If you're roleplaying with someone, don't constantly bombard them PMs about replying. Frankly, it's annoying. However, if they've been inactive for more than a week, then send them a friendly little reminder. Any posts in the CBOX trying to force someone to reply faster will be deleted.
XII. MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS You're allowed to have as many characters as you like, but please keep them all active. We allow only one character per account, and thus suggest registering with your character's first name.
XIII. DISPLAY NAME CRITERIA Keep it simple. First name and last name. That's it.
XIV. ICON && SIGNATURE SIZE Proboards limits it so your icons can only reach a maximum of 100(w)x150(h)px. However, for your signature, we allow any size as long as they don't stretch out the page or are overly irritating.
XV. LEAVING THE SITE / INACTIVITY While it's our hope that you never do, we understand that people move on. Preferably PM the WHISPER KEEPER account and we will take care of deletion. On the flip side of the coin if no application has been posted within two weeks of joining, we will delete your account. We routinely perform activity checks to clear out inactive members, but until that happens, PB's remain reserved under the original character.
XVI. AMOUNT OF POSTING Joining this site, you must understand that there will be periods of high activity, and periods of low activity. While we love to write here, we all understand that everyone has a life. But when you can, we'd love to see you back with us, as this site will always be here, along with its stories.
