your character can only have ONE ability from the list -- they cannot be combined or changed
residents of eventide have only begun experiencing these abilities in the last 20 years -- only those BORN in eventide into families who lived here when the lights returned will have abilities
even if your ability influences others, you CANNOT do things without the other members permission

abilities first develop between early teens to mid-twenties and take up to 10 years to mature

ACCELERATED HEALING.
~ the ability to heal rapidly from any injury
COMMON TRAITS :
usually discovered when someone injures themselves and heal almost instantaneously most feel "phantom aches" when ability is first forming at the site of the healed injuries overtime it is believed that this will result in perpetual youth headwounds (bullet, stab, etc) ARE fatal
BEWITCH.
~ the ability to charm another person into doing what they want ; PLEASE NOTE cannot make others fall in love with them
COMMON TRAITS :
most doubt that they have this ability and are viewed as simply charismatic the ability is its strongest when combined with eye-contact and touch many with this ability often question how real the relationships they have with others are -- does someone truly like them or have they manipulated the person into thinking so?
CLAIRSENTIENCE.
~ the ability to gain psychic information through touch ; PLEASE NOTE this only pertains to inanimate objects
COMMON TRAITS :
this ability is extremely unpredictable in its early stages. persons with it have no control over which objects will reveal information to them persons with this ability tend to avoid clutter preferring to have as few possessions as possible once mature (takes years) persons with this ability can chose which object they wish to learn information about - this requires tremendous concentration
CONJURING.
~ the ability to think of an object and have it appear; PLEASE NOTE that the object is then taken from somewhere else -- it does not come from nothing
COMMON TRAITS :
usually discovered when they think of something and it appears the person has to be extremely specific with their desires because the thing that they conjure comes from somewhere else, they have to deal with the side effects of this in its early stages, persons with this ability can often find themselves in awkward situations unable to conjure people
DISINTEGRATION.
~ the ability to destroy an object through touch
COMMON TRAITS :
this ability is linked to anger and is first discovered during a moment of rage is extremely hard to control during its early developmental stage persons with this ability often withdraw from people to protect them from their anger
DREAM WEAVER.
~ the ability to create and manipulate the dreams of others
COMMON TRAITS :
this ability can be very confusing when it first manifests itself and the person who possesses it can feel trapped within other peoples dreams works based on proximity - the closer you are to the person who's dreams you wish to weave the easier the manipulation in its early development, persons with this ability often have a hard time distinguishing between reality and dreams persons with this ability tend to be daydreamers
EIDETIC MEMORY.
~ the ability to recall images, sounds, or objects in memory with extreme accuracy
COMMON TRAITS :
persons with this ability do extremely well in school can see anything and mimic it often grow bored in school as they don't have to apply themselves to do well
ELECTRIC MANIPULATION.
~ the ability to control, generate, and absorb electric fields
COMMON TRAITS :
during its developmental stage, persons with this ability often act as a conductor (lightning rod) during storms can often cause power surges with electronics this ability controls the current of an electronic device, not the actual item often first discovered when they cause an appliance at home to explode
EMPATHY.
~ the ability to sense and control the emotions of others
COMMON TRAITS :
persons with this ability often don't recognize that they have it are great listeners when in an intense emotional setting, can get overwhelmed can influence the emotions of others by the way they feel -- ie: they are calm, so others feel that way, too usually discovered when they see their own emotions being reflected in those around them -- most test this ability a lot to be certain they possess it
ENHANCED HEARING.
~ the ability to hear sounds that are too high-pitched/far away for a normal human
COMMON TRAITS :
during its developmental stage, persons with this ability will often complain of headaches due to excessive noise most doubt their sanity when ability first manifests persons with this ability prefer solitude and quiet while it develops ability develops in two years, but takes longer to master
ENHANCED SPEED.
~ the ability to move at speeds faster than a normal human
COMMON TRAITS :
usually discovered while playing a sport persons with this ability have to work extremely hard to mask it
ENHANCED STRENGTH.
~ the ability to lift objects without assistance that would otherwise be impossible for a normal human
COMMON TRAITS :
usually discovered while performing a task that requires lifting persons with this ability have to use extreme caution when having physical contact with persons without this ability can feel extreme guilt for accidentally injuring a person ability is harder to control when in high-emotional situations
ENHANCED VISION.
~ the ability to see objects at a great distance / limited lighting that would be impossible for a normal human
COMMON TRAITS :
usually discovered at night when they can see without the aid of lights while ability is developing, persons often express discomfort from the suns bright light persons with this ability have a special fondness for the lights -- they see them differently than others
FLIGHT.
~ the ability to fly or hover without assistance
COMMON TRAITS :
usually discovered when the person is happy and feels like they are floating, only to discover that they are often when feeling elated, persons with this ability find it hard to control while ability is developing, persons can often "lose" it while in flight and plummet toward the ground
HEALER.
~ the ability to sense sickness in and heal others
COMMON TRAITS :
from a young age, persons with this ability are sensitive toward people with ailments from a young age the ailment appears as a different color on the persons body, the healer places their hands over it until the color disappears most with this ability seek careers in the medical profession
ILLUSION.
~ the ability to alter or deceive the perceptions of another
COMMON TRAITS :
persons with this ability have always had vivid imaginations usually discovered when telling a story to someone and they both appear to be there depending on the illusion this can drain the illusionist, especially while the ability is still forming can only create one illusion at a time
INTANGIBILITY.
~ the ability to pass through solid objects
COMMON TRAITS :
person must be calm in order for ability to manifest person does not become invisible at any time most describe the sensation of passing through a solid object like sticking your hand into a bowl of jell-o
INVISIBILITY.
~ the ability to hide yourself from the naked-eye
COMMON TRAITS :
usually discovered when a person is embarrassed and they literally disappear once ability manifests itself, it can take several days for the person to uncloak themselves as they are often too upset to regain control does not hide sounds
LIQUIFICATION.
~ the ability to alter your genetic makeup into liquid form
COMMON TRAITS :
usually discovered when person is in an extreme emotional situation and they begin to melt when this ability is first developing the transition from solid to liquid can be very slow this gift takes up to EIGHT years to mature
MEMORY ABSORPTION.
~ the ability to absorb someone's memories through skin-to-skin contact
COMMON TRAITS :
when this ability first manifests itself it can overwhelm the person -- the person's memories that they are absorbing can be more than they are prepared to handle some have been known to resist contact in order to ensure that those around them have their privacy as ability matures, it comes and goes so the user is never sure when they will absorb other people's memories while absorbing a memory, persons with this ability are immersed in every aspect of the memory -- all their senses are engaged
MEMORY MANIPULATION.
~ the ability to manipulate and erase other people's memories for any length of time
COMMON TRAITS :
have to know of the memory in order to erase or alter it ability is performed through skin-to-skin touch usually discovered when the person accidentally erases an important memory from a loved one this ability takes a lifetime to master persons with this ability have been known to avoid physical contact
OMNI-LINGUISM.
~ the ability comprehend and speak any language
COMMON TRAITS :
person's with this ability show an amazing aptitude for languages at a young age usually discovered when in a setting where multiple languages are being used and they comprehend everything
PLANT MANIPULATION.
~ the ability to accelerate, generate, and control the growth of plant life
COMMON TRAITS :
persons with this ability often have a deep love for nature and the outdoors people who know them often joke about their "green thumb" usually discovered when their touch restores life to a dead plant it is believed that this ability is tied to emotion and that whatever the person is feeling impacts the type of plant that is grown
POWER SENSING.
~ the ability to sense the abilities of others
COMMON TRAITS :
persons with this ability describe sensing a power of another like being able to see a cloud of color encircling the person -- each power is a different color immune to other people using powers on them most people with this ability claim to have had it their entire lives and know no different
PRECOGNITION.
~ the ability to see future events ; PLEASE NOTE they are unable to control what they see
COMMON TRAITS :
this ability is very erratic -- person's with it cannot control when it happens persons with this ability are often frustrated as they only see one piece of the puzzle it is believed that persons with this ability can combine their abilities and see more usually discovered when they see a random flash of the future -- for a long time most believe that they are just experiencing déjŕ vu most experience this ability while asleep, but it can come if different forms
PRESENTIMENT.
~ the ability to predict future events based on the emotions that control them -- ie; if someone is angry they can see the outcome of the argument
COMMON TRAITS :
person has to be immersed in the situation in order to see the outcome while ability is developing, persons with it often feel overwhelmed whenever in an emotional situation do not see a concrete image of how the situation will turn out as emotions can change rapidly -- it's more that they see what is happening and what WILL happen simultaneously
PYROKINESIS.
~ the ability to start fires with your mind
COMMON TRAITS :
this ability is tied to rage persons with this ability tend to have a fascination with fire throughout their entire life no sparks fly from the person as this ability manifests - user tends to feel an intense heat in their hands and once they touch an object it ignites most are terrified the first time this ability manifests itself
SELF REPLICATION.
~ the ability to create duplicates of oneself; PLEASE NOTE that the duplicates (clones) rely on the energy of the original. thus the more copies, the weaker the original. depending on the strength of the ability this can result in death
COMMON TRAITS :
when ability first manifests itself, persons cannot replicate their entire self only a part -- like an arm or leg duplicates rely on the energy and mind of the original -- they cannot do anything without the "master's" permission the more duplicates, the weaker the original it is possible for this ability to result in death if too many duplicates are made most are terrified when this ability is first discovered
TECHNOPATH.
~ the ability to look at a piece of technology and understand how it works and how to manipulate it
COMMON TRAITS :
persons with this ability are interested in technology from a young age are able to fix anything it is possible to have this ability and not know it
TELEKINESIS.
~ the ability to move objects with your mind
COMMON TRAITS :
usually discovered when the person thinks of an object they want and it comes to them only works on inanimate objects requires immense concentration when ability is still forming
TELEPATHY.
~ the ability to read minds
COMMON TRAITS :
at first, many doubt the existence of this gift, questioning their sanity instead when this gift first begins it has been described as a perpetual low murmur that varies in volume -- almost like the static on the radio. occasionally a clear thought will break through some experience severe guilt over having this ability and feel invasive
TELEPORTATION.
~ the ability to move from one place to another instantaneously ; PLEASE NOTE this does not involve going forward or backward through time
COMMON TRAITS :
usually discovered when person wishes to be someplace else and arrives there once ability is mature, they are able to transport ONE other person with them while developing, persons with this ability can get stuck in the location they teleport to person has to be extremely specific in where they want to go -- ie: "somewhere with ice" could send them to the freezer
TEMPERATURE MANIPULATION.
~ the ability to slow/increase the kinetic energy of atoms, thus changing the surrounding temperature ; PLEASE NOTE a person can only only perform one -- either heat or cool, not both
COMMON TRAITS :
ability is linked to high-pressure emotions -- ie: anger, jealousy, etc person with the ability is not affected by the change in temperature and at first are unaware that it is happening must learn to be perceptive to those around them
TEMPORAL CONTROL.
~ the ability to freeze time for other people while they remain unaffected
COMMON TRAITS :
when ability first manifests itself it can be an extremely terrifying situation and time can be frozen for some time person must be calm in order to freeze/unfreeze time it is not known if persons with this ability can select others to remain unfrozen with them unable to stop time for those who also have this ability
TEMPORAL DUPLICATION.
~ the ability to bring past and future versions of oneself back to the present; PLEASE NOTE that the duplicate is only an image from the past they are not the person -- think living photograph
COMMON TRAITS :
once ability is matured, persons with it can duplicate OTHER peoples past/future images duplicate is an extension of the person with the ability. in other words they are not the person from the past or the future and will have the same characteristics/memories as the original
TEMPORAL TRAVEL.
~ the ability to travel through time
COMMON TRAITS :
when ability first commences, persons are unable to interact with people in the past or present ability takes a long time to mature CANNOT bring other people with them through time

~ the ability to sense a persons movements / actions after they've left the area based on the imprints their social interactions leave behind

relationships show like colored paths - the more intense the relationship, the more vibrant the path left behind each person has as distinct marker that sets them apart so an experienced tracker can pick their target out from a crowd.
WATER BREATHING.
~ the ability to breathe underwater

persons with this ability have a love for water usually discovered by accident when they remain underwater for long periods of time without needing to surface ability does not take long to mature
WEATHER MANIPULATION.
~ the ability to manipulate the weather based on the person's emotions
COMMON TRAITS :
usually discovered when the person notices that the weather always reflects their mood persons with this ability often have little control over it as it is based on their emotions takes a lifetime to master
X-RAY VISION.
~ the ability to see through solid objects
COMMON TRAITS :
not until this ability is matured does it work on flesh once fully developed persons can choose how far to see through thing -- ie: layers of clothing ability grows stronger each generation -- ie: a person who has this ability and passes it onto their child; that child's ability will be stronger than the parents
