DOWNTOWN.

In the downtown area of Eventide, above the shops and stores are small flats. The downtown sector is also home to the famed Draumóramađur Apartments, available for most of the shopkeepers or the lower-class residents of Eventide. However, these apartments have a beautiful view of quaint Eventide, and are all relatively clean and furbished.

Most have one bedroom, though you can find some with two. Although somewhat cramped, they're perfect for a family just starting out, or someone looking for some space in Eventide (though don't think you'll escape from social gossip).

NORĐURLJÓS PASS.

Travel down the dirt road for a little ways, and you'll come upon a scattering of quaint cottages, each sitting on a decent size piece of land. These cottages usually have the main home - with 2 or 3 bedrooms, and an accompanying shed or small farmhouse nearby. Most are in decent shape, though some of the older homes still have grass, dirt, and moss covered roofs.

These homes have probably been around since the mid 1900s - and thus have seen some wear over the years. The rooms are small, but still comfortable. Most have old wallpaper and creaky floorboards still, unless a renovation was in order - though most of Norđurljós Pass residents don't have the expenses to do such a thing.

HÖFUĐVERKUR VALLEY.

Located on the outskirts of Eventide, some locals would argue that this area isn't even part of the community. These cramped town homes were once owned by the nearby mine to lodge the residents. In 1955, following the closure of the mine, these homes were made available to the public.

While affordable, many require extensive renovations. Most residents complain of paper thin walls through which you can hear the conversations of your neighbors or the howling wind. Still, there is a strong sense of community here - something binds these citizens together in a way no other location does.

ARFLEIFĐ.

Far out in the Kvöld Valley, strewn about are the massive estates that belong to only The Heritage. These manors have several acres to claim as their own, as well as other buildings beside the main house. Most have at least one spacious farmhouse, a guest building as well as a couple extensions to the home. The main house has over seven bedrooms, and each room is furnished in only the finest that Iceland has to offer. Virtually all the windows in the home offer a breathtaking view of the valley and beyond.

Even though they are the wealthiest homes in Eventide, they still are designed in the traditional simplistic Icelandic. None have ornate designs (for the outside of the estate at least) or elaborate landscapes, besides the dirt road that curves around to front of the home.

SIMON HAYES
1220 - 2C algjörlega cres., höfuđverkur valley
macy howorth • darren howorth

it is the country home simon never had; the outside of his house is covered in green, blossoming ivy that is truly a sight for sore eyes from time to time. the windows are still made of the double pane glass, which he is trying to correct, but for now it is simply an antique to him. there is simon's bedroom and his foster parents' bedroom on the other side of the house, but there is an extra farm shed out in the backkyard. The yard is huge, good for the two dogs and the truck his dad owns; simon keeps his car in the garage, where it belongs. there is a study, a living room, and an upstairs, with gorgeous wood floors throughout the house, and massive stained glass windows in the living room, but other than that, it is your traditional farmhouse, with all the modern additives thanks to simon.

GABRIELLE ELAINE HOLT
1216 - 2B algjörlega cres., höfuđverkur valley
jón diđriksson • amber diđriksson

the diđriksson home is nothing short of eccentric. the garden is filled with twisting metal sculptures that are spray-painted in vibrant shades. the well-manicured shrubs providing the ideal backdrop for jón's fanciful designs.

inside, the decor is just as artistic. each room is painted a vibrant color to remind amber of the many journeys she has taken with jón over the years - slate blue in the dining room to remind her of the seine, sienna in the living room for the sunset in morroco, etc. large, original paintings by jón decorate the walls, while brilliant textiles that amber designed cover pillows, windows, and furniture. somehow it all works in a fantastic blend of color and texture.

only one thing seems out of place in a house so full of vibrant life - gabrielle. for her sake the family photos that amber once displayed proudly are hidden. gabrielle's room - a soft sky blue - is void of any personal details. she prefers to avoid the home as often as possible.

KRISTINA AKIKO JÓNSDÓTTIR
1224 algjörlega cres., höfuđverkur valley
akina takahashi • jón ármannsson • ichiro jónsson

kristina's family's home is the same one that belonged to her father's family. her grandparents died when she was young, so only she and her immediate family live there now. her grandparents were not extremely well off, and the house was in a state of disrepair when her family first moved in, but with her parents' decent-sized salaries, necessary renovations were made so that it is now in good condition with enough room to house a family of five. kristina's sister vee has since moved out.

the interior decor of their house is simple and modern - bold colors and patterns adorn their sparse furniture, interspersed with curling metal and plastic. however, their yard is an entirely different scene, old fashioned with roses and morning glories climbing over stone benches and sculptures. kristina's room is always a mess, but the rest of their house is impeccably neat, thanks to akina's frequent cleaning rampages.

KATERINA ISABELLA JÓNATAN
85 kvaran road, arfleifđ
tomas jónatan

the jónatan house is nothing but a spectacle among the drive through those homes of the heritage houses, but what else would be expected of tomas and his daughter katerina. to pass into the realm of the jónatan house, the viewer must pass through an elegant gate and is submersed into what appears to be almost like a different land. the drive way is filled with many available spots and the walk up to the house is lined with greenery and statues.

inside the observer will either love or hate the two story high ceilings in the foyer and kitchen area. the rooms are large and not cluttered, as there is hardly ever a mess within the house. some say it may seem very commercial or cold with it's midnight blues and royal purple interior, but to katerina and tomas it's what home looks like.

FREYA ANNETTE STEFANSSON
6 straumsalir street, arfleifđ
gunnar stefansson • telma stefansson

the stefansson's home is something very unlike a place one would expect freya stefansson to reside. people often imagine she must live in some dark, dank mansion with cobwebs abound and maybe a wolf howling in the distance now and then.

then is not so. the stefansson home is oddly...quaint, for a heritage home, at least. despite making their money off geothermal power, iceland's number one resource, the stefanssons see no reason to parade their money around. they would rather invest it, if anything. the house is still massive by any standards, but there are windows galore and the home is white stone and brown wood, like some sort of overgrown cabin from a fairy tale. nestled amongst several small copses of trees at the end of a long and winding drive way, it's a lovely secluded area and you could drive past the house without even knowing it's there.

56 sólarsalir lane, norđurljós pass
caroline tanner • marshall tanner

settled back near the forest was a small, oddly shaped house that looked as if it had been painted several times over. spots of color peeked out from behind the base coat of blue paint, adding to the overall strange look of the home. a garden, filled with many different varieties of flowers, stretched along the sides of the house, only leaving room for a small porch placed in front of the door. lining the walkway to the door was a stone path, containing different colored stones of all sorts that stood out vibrantly from the grass. the door leading into the house seemed to have a look all its own too: the once white door was painted green, a very vibrant, lime green. the windows adjacent to the door each held a small design painted onto the glass, but the design was so withered away from the weather it was hard to tell what it was anymore.

inside the house seemed to be no more organized than the outside. each wall held a different color, with no apparent pattern to the colorations at all. select walls were chosen to hold works of art, and some had messages written across the wall. one such example was used as a family mural of sorts, with the hand prints of each of the children and parents, followed by their names written elegantly beneath. the kitchen was painted red and yellow, with dark cedar cabinets and outdated appliances. the family room had several mismatching chairs and a couch, all set to face a small tv that seemed to be rarely used. the bedrooms were all similar in size, and there was a bathroom located next to the kitchen.

corrie’s room had walls painted a deep purple, with the ceiling containing her rendition of a solar system. decorated around the room were pictures and posters. her bed took up most of the space, and was pushed against the furthest wall from the door, under a pair of windows. marshall’s room was similar, but painted a grayish color and blank walls. caroline’s was the most vibrant, each wall held a different color and strewn about the room were drawings of outfits and designs.

jesse wyatt • rachel wyatt • lora nelson

the wyatt cottage has long been in disrepair, even before it was bought out by jesse and rachel. it's dark brown wooden exterior has been long in need of a paint as well of each of the green windowpanes. the windowboxes are constantly filled with some sort of vegetation that verys dependong on what will grow during the season. in fact, the plant life on the exterior is what gives their house a warm, homey look to it beyond the drooping shingles on the roof.

the inside of the four-bedroom cottage is quite cramped for four people to live in. all the bedrooms are filled and located on the second floor, each one decorated to the taste of the owner. the family room is a mixture of both style and the gigantic mess that never seems to fade. only enough room for a couch, a lazyboy, a coffee table and a tv but there is also a small piano in there to make the room quite over crowded. the kitchen's the largest room in the household and has an entrance towards their garden that leads to the old barn, now converted into a shed.

398 fábjáni cres., norđurljós pass

lives with in lower case • name • karoline rachel loghan

this little house on fábjáni cres has been the home to maggie o'harr and her family for only a short time. it was her and her husband that had bought the quaint little cottage shortly after their marriage, and she has now given it to her two granddaughters, though karson is the rightful owner since she is the oldest. maggie had only one daughter, and that was amanda o'harr, because about a year after amanda was born maggie's husband was killed in war world II. she never met anyone afterwards and so she never had any other children. amanda was to own the house when she was older, but she got married to jonathon lohgan and so the sweet little cottage went to her granddaughters.

the cottage isn't 'big', and neither are any of the other cottages that are located on fábjáni cres, but it is comfortable and cozy enough for two to five people. when you first step through the front door, you walk into the living area. it is nicely decorated with some knick knacks and photos, and there is a small t.v. and plety of room to sit. next comes the dining area which is small with a wooden dining table and matching chairs. the kitchen is connected to the dining room due to an opening in it, and it has counter space and somewhat up to date equipment. there is one room downstairs, which karson sleeps in, and two upstairs. karson's room in connected to a small bathroom which has a corner shower, a sink, a toilet, and a medicine cabinet. her younger sister, karoline, has the larger bedroom upstairs, and the third bedroom which they have turned into a guest bedroom. the bathroom upstairs is much bigger than the one downstairs, but it is in porportion to the house.

finally, their is a small shed on the side of the house, but since karson and her sister don't have anything they need to store, they've cleaned it out and made it a nice looking guest house. it's small, but they are able to rent it out to people if they need it. it already had its own key and karon and karoline had a tiny bathroom installed. they used the money they granmother gave to them for that, and they insurance money from their parents they now keep in savings. all in all the sweet little cottage is wonderous and cozy, and karson and her sister are willing to take in residents to help pay for their expenses and the expenses of their residents; their food, water, etc.

[blockquote]ELIZA KRISTINE FARRIS
27 fábjáni cres., norđurljós pass
lives with in lower case • damon asher farris

a small, modest home of two quiet individuals who survive just fine in the quiet of their own living space, this cottage has become sanctuary to eliza and her older brother since they first moved in together when elize was sixteen. somehow, the word 'home' doesn't even begin to cover the vibe that this building gives off almost constantly. there are two stories to the little home and it has an a-frame roof as well as an attic where all of the siblings' old and unused belongings are kept when they are no longer of use. there are two bedrooms, a living room, a small kitchen that doubles as the dining room, one bathroom, and a small study that the two inhabitants use as their den.

the 'living room' is a modest little area that is the first section of the home to be seen when first setting foot inside and there you will find a small sofa to seat two or three and a comfortable recliner as well as a small coffee table, a bookshelf, a fireplace, and a small television set that is rarely used by the two people living in the house. the farris siblings were always much more interested in creative expression than in television programs... the next place to be seen of the farris homestead is the small, narrow kitchen where most of the cooking is done--a responsibility that is shared between eliza and damon--which contains a refrigerator, stove, microwave, some counter-space, and a small dining table and chairs for eating at.

next on ones tour of the old farris home, you would come upon the den where eliza and damon go to relax, read, draw, write, or create in any way that they wish at any given time. it is a room that is shared equally between the two and is where one will find them spending most of their time just revelling in the freedom of owning their own home... And then one might find themselves at the foot of the stairs, next to which an old family portrait of the farris family hangs, and up the flight of stairs one will find the two bedrooms and bathroom of the small cottage. in the bathroom one would find the usual necessities and the same goes for the two bedrooms--beds, desks, dressers, and a few decorations here and there.

and the final touch to the farris home is the barn behind and to the left of the house where miss eliza farris enjoys spending much of her time when she is not in her bedroom or the den, as it is a peaceful place riddled with when she can only assume to be happy memories and the scents of times past. the young girl enjoys laying on the ground beneath the rood of the old barn and simply thinking to herself and her elder brother has been known to join her now and then in her thoughts, though it has come to be known as eliza's domain of sorts in the farris home.
